Mar Vista's Garden - 2013 Succulent Gardens Rejuvenation Project

During last year's end of the school year 5th grade group art project,
students created a performance art piece sculpture
that has been recently installed into Mar Vista's Garden.
Here are some stills from the performance piece:

I built these succulent garden frames with wood and gardening mesh.
I sliced holes into the outside of the garden mesh,
then students planted succulents into the mesh where they would re root into
the soil pressed in between the mesh, then grow into large succulents
that mimic how the students move on a grow into young adults.

Below are the photos I took last week of the succulent gardens
in their new home.
I was forced to bring the gardens home this summer but they received minimal
amounts of sun.
Luckily our garden receives a great amount of sunlight and
these succulents should be ready to burst in no time.

So next time you have a moment, make your way over to
our garden and take a look at our new additions.

Coming Soon to the succulent gardens:
Laminated Plant Identifications!!
